House Rules and Policies
*When making your reservation, you acknowledge that you have reviewed, comprehended, and consented to all house rules. Additionally, you are accountable for ensuring that all members of your group are informed, comprehend, and concur with these regulations.*
To ensure our guests have a properly cleaned and sanitized home, no early check-in or late check-outs will be permitted to allow our wonderful cleaning staff sufficient time to prepare the cabin for the incoming guests.
Check-in: Check in time is at 3pm EST. Guest(s) will be given a code for the keypad on the door, for private access to the cabin. The code will be provided to you prior to check in.
Check-out: The checkout time is scheduled for 10 am EST. Before departing from the property, we kindly request that guests complete the following tasks:
Please be aware that if the property is not left in good condition, additional cleaning charges may apply, and these charges will be forfeited from your security deposit with notice.
Smoking: Our property is completely smoke-free, and smoking is strictly prohibited on the premises. If there is suspicion of smoking inside and outside the property, an extra cleaning fee of $300 will be applied.
Noise and Quiet Hours: Please respect our neighbors and maintain a quiet atmosphere between 11:00 PM EST and 8:00 AM EST. Should law enforcement ever have to respond to a noise disturbance, any local fees attached to the property for the call will be charged to the tenant.
Parties and Events: Hosting parties or large gatherings on the property is strictly prohibited. Unauthorized parties may lead to immediate eviction without a refund, and guests will be held responsible for any additional cleaning expenses incurred. Property accommodates 12 guests. No additional guests are allowed.
Pets: To secure a clean and allergy free stary, pets are not permitted on the premises at this time. If you are traveling with a pet, kindly arrange for their care at an alternate location during your stay. Failure to comply with this policy may result in penalties and/or the cancellation of your reservation without a refund and an additional 450 fine.
Wildlife: Given our mountain location, it's important to be aware of the potential presence of bears and other wildlife, including but not limited to insects, bees, deer, turkeys, wildcats, snakes, scorpions, and more. Please make sure to lock all doors and windows overnight and when you're away from the cabin. Additionally, we highly discourage leaving any trash or food outside or in your vehicle, as bears may be preparing for hibernation or coming out of hibernation. Bears have an incredible sense of smell and will attempt to get to the food. We do have pest control, but we are still a log cabin in the woods. Please call 911 in case of an emergency or go to a nearby hospital for immediate attention.
Traffic: Our cabin is located in a private residential neighborhood. They/we ask that you stay on the RIGHT SIDE of the road when driving in the neighborhood and to also respect the speed limit. We want our guests to be comfortable and enjoy all we have to offer, but it is important to us that everyone is respectful of our neighbors and community, where we feel so privileged to own a home.
PARKING *
Guests may comfortably park up to 4 cars in the driveway in front of the cabin. An electric vehicle charger is available for use if needed and is located outside of the garage to the left. Guests are not allowed access to the inside of the garage.
Trash and Recycling: Utilize the designated trash containers for your disposal needs. Before your check-out, ensure that no perishable food items are left in the refrigerator. All garbage, trash and debris must be placed in securely fastened and tied plastic bags and deposited in the trash cans inside the house in the kitchen or game room. Trash MUST be secured in a tied trash bag before placing in can located outside the property by the garage.Failure to comply will cause an interruption in our waste pickup service, and the tenant will be responsible for an additional fine of $35.
Damages and Repairs: We recognize that accidents can occur and may lead to damage to cabin items. Kindly inform us before checking out, allowing us to address the issue promptly before the arrival of the next guests.
Towels- To prevent makeup stains, please make use of the Black washcloths (labeled “makeup”) we have generously supplied. For colored hair, we encourage use of the provided shower caps to prevent hair dye bleeds to our towels and linen, if sleeping with wet hair. To prevent permanent stains on the white towels, avoid using them to clean floors or any surfaces that could cause discoloration. The Hot tub area has a dedicated color of towels for exterior use only. Failure to comply will result in a linen replacement fee of $25.
Laundry: A separate laundry room is available in the bottom level, and is equipped with everything you should need during your stay. Two (2) complimentary pods are provided for your convenience.
Hot tub- Please refrain from standing on the cover, and ensure that children are supervised at all times. When not in use, it is essential to keep the cover closed. Please adhere to rules on posted signage next to hot tub regarding their use. Do not use any glass containers or alcoholic drinks in the hot tub. If broken glass is found in the hot tub, guests will be charged $250 per occurrence. You are responsible for the safety of yourself and your children at the hot tub. The hot tub does not have any lifeguards on duty. Guests agree that they will use the hot tub at their own risk. No food or drinks are allowed in the hot tub. No soaps or bath salts are allowed.
Amenities and Appliances: Please use all appliances and amenities with care. If you encounter any issues or have questions about their use, contact us for assistance. For your convenience, we have placed all user manuals on the shelf in the kitchen, along with some cookbooks we have left for you using pleasure. All appliances must be left clean at checkout, for they are not included in our cleaning staff agreement to ensure timely turnover for the next guest.
Games: A large variety of board and arcade games are available for use at all times. To ensure the next guest can also enjoy them, we ask that no books, or games be removed from the property.
Popcorn machine: Please enjoy our popcorn machine during game night or movie night, but make sure to leave it clean. A complimentary bag has been provided for your enjoyment. To avoid fires to the structure, please do not forget to turn off the machine overnight and before checkout. To protect our structure, violators will be charged a fee if the machine is found on by our cleaning staff.
Hot Dog Machine: Please be sure to enjoy our hot dog toaster. *Food not provided by host.
Coffee:This cabin is equipped with a Ninja Dual Brew Pro Specialty Coffee System- 2 complimentary cups provided.
Hot Cocoa Station: Please enjoy a cup of hot chocolate in the mountains. Two Complimentary/individually packaged pouches are provided for your enjoyment.
Bar-This cabin is equipped with a bar, adult games, and a wine fridge for your enjoyment. You must bring your own adult beverages, but we highly suggest that you pay our lovely friends, Bob and Karen, owners of Chateau Meichtry a visit, if you love wine. Enjoy a glass on the back deck, leave us your cork with initials, and write us a message about your experience on our guestbook.
Fireplaces: Are gas and do not require firewood. As per the recommendation of the Gilmer County Fire Department, and for the safety of our guests and our home, the use of all interior fireplaces is strictly prohibited during summer months (June- September) as it gets very warm.
Cooling and Heating:Ac temperature in the cabin must be left at 76 in the summer and the heat at 65 in the winter.
Basement Heaters: Basement heaters must be turned off for bedtime, and when leaving the property as it can get very warm and potentially start a fire.
BBQ/DECK/PATIO RULES *
Please clean off the grill and remove any remaining food after use. Food, liquids and sauces should be transported to the grilling area in air-tight containers to avoid accidents and spills.Grill cleaning is not included in our cleaning staff agreement to ensure timely turnover for the next guest.
Please respect quiet hours and minimize noise/music when using outdoor areas (decks, hot tub, sauna, firepit) between the quiet hours of 11 pm - 8 am in consideration of our neighbors, as some do reside in the community full time.
* FIREPLACE POLICY *
The fireplace and outdoor firepit can be used at your own risk. Please use these with caution and an adult above the age of 25 must be present.
FIREPIT: areas must be clear of smoke before leaving to prevent fires. Absolutely no trash left in any firepit areas.
Security: Please make sure to secure all doors and windows whenever you are away from the property. Please be aware that we cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen items. For added security, there is an exterior security camera installed to monitor the cabin's surroundings. The neighborhood is typically peaceful, and this camera is primarily for insurance reasons. Any effort to tamper with, redirect, or obstruct the camera in any manner will incur a mandatory fee, and the owner may consider canceling the guest's reservation. Cameras do not view private areas.
WiFi and Internet Usage: Complimentary WiFi is provided. Please use it responsibly and do not engage in illegal or harmful activities online. We recommend, you book this cabin to disconnect from electronics and reconnect with each other, and nature.
Plumbing: The septic system operates efficiently but can become blocked if inappropriate items are flushed. ONLY flush toilet paper, and please refrain from flushing any feminine hygiene products. Utilize the provided toilet tissue exclusively as we have provided sufficiently for your stay. In the event of a system blockage by guest negligence, guests will be held responsible for associated damages and charges.
Owners’ Closet: The property owners maintain a securely locked closet on the premises for their personal belongings and additional supplies intended for the rental. Please be aware that this closet is strictly private and should not be accessed by tenants or their guests under any circumstances. Unauthorized entry into this locked space is considered a serious breach of the rental agreement and will result in immediate eviction. In such cases, guests will be held responsible for any damages incurred, any missing items, and will be subject to a $500 eviction fee.
Explosives:The use of firearms, fireworks, and any weapons are prohibited on the property. This is a local and state law, and against the rules of the subdivision. If firearms, fireworks, or any weapons are used on the property, the local authorities may be called, and you will be asked to leave without a refund.
Cancellation Policy: Our cancellation policy is followed in all instances including weather, power outages, illness, and any circumstances out of our control. Power outages are rare but can occur anytime during the year. No refunds will be given for power outages.
Compliance with Laws: Guests are expected to comply with all local laws and regulations during their stay. If you are not familiar, please be sure to get acquainted in advance of your stay.
Food in rooms:*Eating and drinking in the bedrooms are not permitted. Kindly savor your meals in the designated dining area to prevent rodents in the property.
Minor children:*It's important to maintain continuous supervision of children throughout your stay. Please refrain from leaving children unattended anywhere on the property for their own safety.

Smoke alarms are safety requirements. During your stay, if you hear the alarm chirping, please let us know right away so that we can make arrangements to replace the battery. It is strictly prohibited to tamper with or turn off smoke alarms for your own safety. A fine of $350 will be charged to all tenants who tamper with our safety equipment.
Please understand that we do everything we can to ensure there are no mechanical issues with any amenities during your stay. We can't control when equipment/things malfunction or break, If the fireplace, hot tub, washer, dryer, etc. malfunctions or breaks during your stay, notify us immediately and we will handle the issue as quickly as possible. We do not offer refunds for instances such as this, but we will handle the situation professionally and efficiently.
